Nilanjana
Bhowmik brings over a dozen years of experience in operations, strategy,
and corporate finance to Longworth. Before joining Longworth, Nilanjana held the
position of Vice President, Mergers and Acquisitions at Jefferies Broadview where
she led several buy and sell side transactions involving public and private Information
Technology companies. Prior to Broadview, Nilanjana served at eXcelon Corporation,
formerly Object Design Inc., a publicly traded database and B2B software vendor.
At eXcelon, she managed the company’s professional services business for North America,
overseeing over $20 million in services revenues and double digit growth. Prior to that,
she held key technical and management positions at Object Design.
At Longworth, Nilanjana focuses primarily on software and wireless investments with specific interest in security, core infrastructure, and innovative mobile consumer services. Nilanjana leads Longworth’s investments in and serves on the boards of Cellufun, Scanbuy and Tizor Systems. She co-leads Longworth’s investments in Brabeion Software, iJET Intelligent Risk Systems and Marathon Technologies. She was also actively involved with Softricity (acquired by Microsoft) and Thor Technologies (acquired by Oracle).
She received a B.Eng. in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, an MS in computer science from the University of South Carolina, and an MBA from INSEAD. She is a charter member of the Boston chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), a non-profit organization focused on helping entrepreneurs of South Asian heritage.
